Christ The Redeemer of Kota Kinabalu?

Christ the Redeemer, it’s a famous landmark in Brazil where a giant statue of Jesus Christ standing over 30 meters high, with his both hands extended, looking over the city of Rio de Jeneiro and its coast.

If you have no idea what I am talking about, I believe below picture will remind you of the famous landmark in Brazil.

I believe I have found the similar replica of the same in the city of Kota Kinabalu.

The picture on the left is the mentioned Christ the Redeemer statue while on the right, is our own local replica of the same view. The church concerned is St.Joseph church of Roman Catholic and this location is at Kokol Hill in the area of Inanam, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Jogging, To Me

Why jog? People ask me. Short answers from me:
– Exercise, and especially at my age, it’s not a want but a necessity. Without doing it, my headache becomes more frequent and my back ache, very painful one.

– Meditation. Life is hectic and I seldom have time to reflect my own purpose of life. Everyday after work, my mind becomes too tired to think of anything else. Jogging is my only time to ponder, think of ideas, reflect my own life, get de-stressed and move on with life.

– Connecting with Mother Nature. I love Mother Nature and my favourite jogging place is Taman Tun Fuad at Bukit Padang.

Partly covered Mount Kinabalu. Cloudy weather today.

Airbnb – I’m Hosting and Welcome to Kota Kinabalu

Hi, just a short one here.

Do you guys know what is an ‘Airbnb’? Maybe younger generation will recognize this.  It’s basically an online portal whereby you can look for places to stay overnight around the world. These are places hosted by individuals who have available spaces for you and in return, you pay them small fees. If you heard of Agoda.com or Booking.com, it works in a similar way, except this one, is not hotel, but private properties.

I’m hosting my empty space at Airbnb too. The new menu called “Airbnb” above will bring you to my property page at Airbnb. Feel free to have a look or drop me a message or email me if you require further clarification or assistance! Have a nice day!

A Day Trip To Pulau Sapi/ Sapi Island Off Kota Kinabalu

Pulau Sapi, or Sapi Island is one of the 5 islands that make up the marine park known as Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, which is located just off the coast of  Kota Kinabalu, the capital city of Sabah.

In local terms, the word ‘Sapi’ means cow and why is it called such, I have no idea. It definitely doesn’t look like a cow if I look at the map of this island (Please comment below if you know the story so I can be enlightened). What I do know is that if you’re looking for island-based fun, you will have to head to an island (which Sabah has many) and the nearest island from my home, is the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park.

Why specifically Sapi Island this time? Well, it was originally a plan with a group of friends to explore a little corner on the island that is not frequented by visitors, but unfortunately we later found out the trail leading to that little corner has being closed to the public.
