Dragon Pearl Beach Resort, the name itself is an interesting one, don’t you think so? For sure no Dragon Pearl can be found here but something else that will definitely attract you to this place, well, at least for me.
While on my way back home from a photography session in Kota Belud, I came across a road sign of this resort and decided to explore this place given its unique name. If you do come here, please be extra alert with its small road signs, otherwise, you will be just like me, ended up in remote villages. But no worries, I will prepare a map for your guidance below.

When I first arrived, I was immediately overwhelmed with its crystal clear and blue sea water. I can’t remember the last time I experienced the same on mainland Sabah except travelling to islands. The resort has a long stretch of white sandy beach which is suitable for many kinds of activities including ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) riding which is available for rent.

Talking about activities, wide range of activities are available at this resort namely:
- Kayaking
- ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) rent
- Firefly trip
- Fishing trip
- Island visit – Pandan Pandan Island
- Snorkeling
- Camping
- BBQ Pit available for rent
- Jungle trekking
Now, in terms of accommodation, several options are available namely:
- One Traditional Lungus Long House with individual rooms that accommodate 2 person each room.
- A Tree House
- A traditional local village house that can accommodate up to 15 persons
- Moving Cabins (option for single or double occupants)

I would like to highlight that all accommodation above are not air-conditioned but they are all provided with stand fans. According to personnel in charge, air-conditioned units will be made available in near future. If you do not prefer the types of accommodation provided by the resort, campsite is available for you to set up your camp too with minimal fees. Not forget to mention the resort also has a restaurant.

This is definitely a suitable place for those seeking to escape hectic life in the city, soul searching and those seeking to stay in traditional long house and did I forget to mention about the unique tree house?
Did I mention you can also see sun setting here? I haven’t got the chance to witness this but according to the person in charge of this resort, the sun sets the beside the Pandan Pandan Island which I imagined, would definitely looks amazingly.

Now this blog is not about the review of this resort as I have not personally experiencing staying here nor it is an advertisement as I do not get any benefit from the resort. I am writing this to introduce to you this new place that I have discovered and believe it is a place worth my second visit due to its beautiful beach I mentioned earlier. A review will follow after my second visit so please stay tuned for the update.
Lastly, my guessing on why this resort is called Dragon Pearl Beach resort. Looking at the map, it sure looks like a dragon chasing after the pearl.
Oh, by the way, there are minimal entrance fees to pay detailing below:
Adult RM5.00 (valid until 6.00pm); RM10.00 (overnight)
Children RM2.00 (valid until 6.00pm); RM4.00 (overnight)
