City Mosque: Kota Kinabalu

The City Mosque is one of the famous landmarks that you should drop by for a visit in Kota Kinabalu.

Officially opened on 2 February 2000, the mosque was built on a 2.47 acres of land on the bay of Likas, overlooking the beautiful South China Sea. The mosque is by far, the most majestically built structure in Kota Kinabalu as it’s structure was built a la that of the famous Al-Nabawi mosque in Medina. It is also surrounded by man-made lagoon, which gives a serenely gorgeous and dramatic look on a full moon light.
