This is the only best Aquarium & Marine Museum in Kota Kinabalu that is worth a visit as at date of this writing.
Located about 10 km away from Kota Kinabalu city centre, the Aquarium & Marine Museum is actually part of the research centre under the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) campus. It was established in 1995 with the aim to educate, conduct research and training as well as to promote the sustainability of marine resources in Sabah. Among the facilities include free standing exhibition tanks, life open water reef exhibition center and Multimedia Interactive Information Kiosk.


It also houses all kinds of exhibits pertaining to the marine life that can be found in the waters of Sabah. Among the exhibits include different kinds of corals, a skeleton of whale and giant Groupers, just to name a few.




To get there from the city of Kota Kinabalu, you may opt to hire a taxi but be sure to arrange a return trip as taxis on standby may not be readily available at this location. Alternatively, you may want to include this as part of your tour package with your tour agent.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday: 9.30am to 12.30pm, 2.00pm to 4.30pm
Friday: 9.30am to 11.30pm, 2.00pm to 4.30pm
Sunday: Morning only 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Wednesday & Public Holiday: Closed

Child 4-6 years: RM2.00 (Malaysian), RM4.00 (Non-Malaysian)
Student 7-18 years: RM3.00 (Malaysian), RM6.00 (Non-Malaysian)
Adult: RM5.00 (Malaysia), RM10.00 (Non-Malaysian)
